Ducati test rider, Casey Stoner enjoyed a productive first day of testing and success together with nearly all the current MotoGP riders.

Former two-times MotoGP world champion was joined by Ducati factory riders, Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone were equally gush Desmosedici GP. one of the agenda, test the Ducati Desmosedici without additional wings (winglet).

Not long ago the Grand Prix Commission announced that all the wings will be banned from the start of the MotoGP season in 2017. In the races this season, all the motors apply a small aerodynamic fairing panel front.

Only Ducati which has the largest wing and the first to add wings on their motorcycles, in an effort to generate more grip.

For that Ducati needs to collect more data to prepare for next season's competition. Casey Stoner is deservedly test this time with the motor without wings, different from that used Dovizioso and Iannone.

"Today we had a lot of attempts to compare the motor, with wings, without wings, a lot of things to get the data and it's all been pretty positive," said Stoner, the first driver to bring the Ducati world champion in 2007.

Stoner managed to carve a best lap time of 1 minute 24.502 seconds and finished fourth fastest behind Dovizioso, Iannone and Scott Redding (who also uses Desmosedici).

Stoner admitted to not being a big fan of the circuit itself, the views and the tracks were very smooth certainly eased the lack of grip and "odd" angle.

The project falls into Moto2 actually been heard since February this year, but the KTM and WP Suspension has built bike very much. Even pointed out the motor is ready to bolt.

There could be a bit strange to see KTM builds motorcycles and racing chassis in the arena that was filled only Honda (all current Moto2 bike on a Honda CBR600RR). KTM feels need to be present and involved in all competitions.

KTM CEO Stefan Pierer recently spoke at Speedweek about this Moto2 project. At that time, Pierer said that the motor will be ready by the 2017 season, and joined the team which is led by Aki Ajo.

Brad Binder and Tom Lüthi will be the rider. Currently, Luthi ranked fourth in Moto2 rider standings. While Binder is currently leading the Moto3 class with a distance of 47 points.

There is no reason not to race for KTM, given the development of the motor is good enough. If the brand is joining, Moto2 race will be more exciting in the absence of a monopoly brand.
